Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the state, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 requests for assistance across the state, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both areas.
